The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pa., crawled onto the roof of a manufacturing plant about 130 yards to the right of Trump, where he fired 8-10 shots with an “AR-style rifle.”
A lot of people (especially insane Leftists) online are asking, “How did he miss?” I’m sure some of you have shot a firearm before, but for those who haven’t I want to emphasize that while it’s easy to shoot a gun, it’s very difficult to hit a target. Even a stationary target.1 And the farther away you are, the more difficult it is to hit what you’re aiming at, because there are a ton of variables that affect the trajectory of a bullet. Even with the shooter on his stomach — the easiest position to shoot from because it allows you to use the ground (or roof, in this case) to stabilize your rifle — he only managed to graze Trump’s right ear.
Check out this insane photo that a member of the White House Press Corps captured of a bullet whizzing past Trump’s head:
A head tilt literally saved his life:
There’s also a lot of talk about this being a case of gross negligence — or something even worse — by the Secret Service. A rooftop with a direct sightline to the stage was unsecured. They fucked up. Big time. This was an unmitigated disaster. And while it may sound conspiratorial to suggest what took place tonight was part of a nefarious plot,2 is it not possible that the assassination attempt came incredibly close to succeeding due to a security failure stemming from a lack of men and resources, and that the inadequate apportionment of men and resources was intentional—that the Biden administration or some backroom Democratic officials made the conscious decision to provide Trump with a bare minimum security detail? Need I remind you that just three months ago, Democrats were trying to revoke Trump’s Secret Service protection? And according to The Federalist’s CEO, a source told the publication that Trump’s team “has been asking for beefed up protection and resources for weeks, but has been rebuffed time and again by Biden’s DHS.”3
Speaking of the Democrats, let’s check in on some reactions:
Let’s be clear about something: These people wanted to see Trump’s head blown off on live television. Understand what that would look like. And understand that they would have flooded the internet with celebratory 4K videos of it happening in slow motion.
They Wanted This
The Biden administration, Democratic Party, and their mainstream media propagandists have been using hysterical, alarmist rhetoric for years that inevitably led to this conclusion. Over, and over, and over again they’ve told people that Trump is a threat to Our Democracy™, an authoritarian in waiting, a would-be dictator if no one stops him. Homosexuals will be “disappeared.” Trump “death squads” will roam the streets. Journalists and pundits will be “sent to camps.” The world will literally be “destroyed.”
They were practically begging some unstable, room-temperature IQ Leftist to take matters into their own hands, seeding and cultivating an assassination attempt. And all the while, Americans were told the damnable lie that “right-wing extremists and domestic terrorists” are the greatest threat to the country.4
This was published at 6 A.M. today:
Remember the insane 6000-word editorial by Robert Kagan that The Washington Post published last November, in which Kagan compared Trump to Julius Caesar, strongly implied similar means were needed to stop him, and declared that a dictatorship was inevitable absent “some intervention”?
And remember when Stacey Plaskett accidentally said on MSNBC that Trump needed to be shot? Or when former Senator Claire McCaskill declared on MSNBC that Trump is more dangerous than Hitler and Mussolini? Or when Biden said earlier this week that “it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye?” Or when Reid Hoffman, the venture capitalist and co-founder of LinkedIn who’s been funding the lawsuits against Trump, lamented that he couldn’t make Trump “an actual martyr”?
They applauded this, laughing about it on late night television:
Six months ago, Tucker Carlson predicted tonight would happen:
In closing, I want to briefly talk about Trump’s reaction and the absolutely massive balls he showed tonight.
A rat-tat-tat of shots rings out. Trump feels a bullet rip the upper lobe of his right ear off. A group of Secret Service agents pile on top of him. People scream, supporters in the background half crouch. Chaos. Terror.
It’s absolutely imperative to get Trump off the stage and the agents try to do that, pulling him up onto his feet.
But Trump, just seconds after coming within centimeters of having his head blown open, blood trickling down his face, tells the agents to wait a second, and he pumps his fist in defiance, yelling “Fight, fight, fight!”5 No panic. No laying on the stage in the fetal position, paralyzed by fear. As National Review’s Rich Lowry put it, “Trump’s sense of the moment, his instinct to reassure his supporters and show strength just seconds after getting wounded in an assassination attempt, was simply epic and will live through American political history.”
That response won Trump the election. Truly. I don’t care who you are or what you think of him, if that doesn’t resonate with you on a visceral level, in the very marrow of your bones, you need to check your pulse. And if you don’t admire that kind of moxie in a leader, you don’t know what leadership is.
Hollywood is an absolute joke.
Note the Secret Service reaction (and reaction time) in the clip at the top of this post. Within seconds a group of agents smothered Trump in a human shield; they used their own bodies to protect him. Pause to appreciate that. And please don’t say “That’s their job.” Yes, it’s their job. And yes, in more ways than not the Secret Service utterly failed tonight. But some of these agents demonstrated a degree of courage that the military awards the Medal of Honor for, and which an infinitesimal percentage of the American population would ever muster if presented with a situation where saving someone else’s life might require giving their own.
Where’s all the rioting, looting, and city burning from the MAGA extremists?
CNN was upset by this. “That's not the message that we want to be sending right now.”
Wonderful as always. Really have to wonder how the shooter knew that roof would be clear....
Courage under fire. Fight or flight? Well, America knows now. Not only that, but his response after the shooting? He thanks the people who risked their lives protecting him, then he expresses CONDOLENCES to the family of the attendee who was shot. Only then does he comment on his condition. Biden's response was a pathetic, tepid fake concern for Trump - and zero mention of the innocent attendee who died and the one(s?) who were injured. Even the deluded and deranged shooter - he was arguably on Biden's side. Whether a plant or whether a nutjob. Nala. Says volumes.
