I had been hearing about that club shooting in Colorado since yesterday. They referred to it as a Gay club. Drag shows, entertainment, etc.

Fast forward to this morning and I’m listening/watching John Roberts and Sandra Smith on Fox.

WOW……..they had Mr. Farrio (I think that was his name) on……..he was the hero who undoubtedly saved many lives………Smith and Roberts were overwhelmed by this incredible individual as was I. He was retired military…….served 2 or 3 times in combat areas. My God, what an unbelievable person. He said his training just kicked in and he grabbed the shooter and threw him on the floor and just started pounding and beating the guy. Smith and Roberts were so taken with this man that they didn’t stop talking about him……….I sat there stunned and proud.

"hate crime" is a wokester invention. no murder victim is superior to another. these poor people didn't deserve to be killed or injured, but for us to buy into the notion that any one group deserves more sympathy than another only perpetuates a divide-and-conquer scheme.

Hurray for opening up the comments! You're one of the ones at the top of the list when I can afford it :)

On a happy note, Brooks was sentenced to life (6 times!) for the parade attack. (CNN readers were probably left wondering who this person was)

SimCom, if you know, wasn’t that in Wisconsin? And is that one of those states where if you get a life sentence it doesn’t “really” mean life?

It might not 'technically' mean life, but this guy is facing over 1,000 years behind bars. If he outlives the sentence, he deserves to walk 😝

Now that everyone on the Left side of the aisle has injected themselves with the brain virus known as Critical Theory, they've picked up all the ugly habits of Leftist academia, one of which is this same basic play they've been running since the 80s (bc no one has been able to defend against it):

Declare everything Oppression and everyone either an Oppressor or a Victim; declare anyone who disagrees with your platform a vile Nazi bigot and connect them to the worst people and crimes of their identity group (so all noncompliant White men become the recapitulation of everyone from Hitler to George Wallace); declare these people and their thoughts outside the boundaries of decent society and conversation, meaning all your opponents get smeared with the stink of the bigot and ideally delegitimized socially and politically; then rinse and repeat until everyone in any position of power, anyone with any platform, is either on your team, too afraid of your team to disagree, or cast into the outer darkness of society.

It's how they conquered the Humanities, then all of academia, then the entire cultural complex of the Anglosphere, and is how they've now achieved almost total control of American discourse.

Thanks!

I'm starting to think that when they tried to teach me postmodern Marxist literary theory back in college, I was much more traumatized then I realized!

I read a fascinating essay today by a detransitioner who is grateful that she did not undergo irremediable surgery when she identified as trans. It’s long but very interesting read by someone who is doing the hard work of understanding why she did what she did. Apropos of this discussion, when as a lonely young girl with few friends in real life, she connected to others on Tumblr, and came to hate her “cisheterosexual” white, privileged self.

thanks!

is hard for me to read those things, it makes me so sad and mad.

esp also since whenever i raise these issues to my friends or fam (who are mostly Gen X liberals but not particularly dogmatic or "Woke"), they immediately switch to the party line and say things like, "What/Why do you care?" or "Better she cuts off her tits than kills herself!"

Meaning that among just about all liberals "Trans kids" and "gender-affirming care" (even for kids) code to them as kind, compassionate, progressive, and that these narratives (and medical procedures) shouldn't be questioned but celebrated.

You have to give the Gender zealots credit, they have done a masterful job of seizing both the narrative and the moral high ground, I don't know if or how we can ever deprogram the large chunk of Americans who've made the Trans narrative into a sacred belief.

Truth will out! This same writer has discovered she is not alone, and has done a remarkable amount of work of discovering and revealing how she was misled—willingly. It really is worth a read because the insight she has is remarkably clear minded.

ok u convinced me, i will read it!

(i guess i'm just a pessimist, or really more of a believer that it is MUCH harder to convince someone of something wrong/false than to convince them that they were tricked/lied to. But hopefully you're right and the truth will out.)

oh, I absolutely agree! The late Ferrol Sams wrote about his upbringing in rural Fayette County, Georgia, where his father was superintendent of schools in the early 20th century. He’d ride into town with his dad and learned a lot hanging out in the local barber shop waiting for his dad to complete school business. In one account of a long story told in the shop, the barber pronounced the moral: “No son-of-a-bitch ever changed for you telling him he was one.”

Yes, and you both make me stop and think……..it actually hurts my brain sometimes but I power through.

I'm so happy your brain hurts. Honestly. My goal with most articles is to help people confront reality. That is always painful. When conducting a Business Process Reengineering workshop at a household-name car rental company about 25 years ago one woman actually had a psychotic episode and had to be taken out on a gurney and sent to the hospital. I was very proud of myself.

Ok, you made me choke……..I aspire to be removed from where ever I am on a gurney.

AND, I confront reality all the damn time and it’s overrated.

I am employed by a very woke university in Canada. We received an email about this hate crime today and you’d better believe we’ll be amping our activism for LGBTQ!

Read that before I read this, but the whole email stunk to high heaven. What a disgusting exploitation of a tragedy.

I assume you mean "district attorney", not defense attorney?
