It's nice to have the official report and everything, but we have known all of this for years -- ever since the handwritten notes came out, IIRC. The entire Russiagate story was a hoax the entire time, AND THEY ALL KNEW IT. Yet we were subjected to four years of "walls closing in" and "putin's cockholster".

If Alex Jones owes $1B for his misinformation, how much should the media pony up?

I said the same thing. I use to a liberal until they made it mean you supported chaos, where rules and regulations and oversight went out the window.

I am still a liberal. It's the Democratic party that abandoned liberalism.

I posted your link to Facebook with this comment: "Every thinking person knew it was a hoax at the get-go. But tell a lie, repeat often and with conviction, and many if not most will believe.

Democrats follow in Goebbels' coattails." I followed it up in a comment to my own post: "The description of the report and other lies the FBI and DOJ told is scathing. Another well written piece by a citizen journalist writing his own Substack."

Great work.

they wanted to believe. i posted elsewhere my initial reaction, but when someone says something awful about a person you loathe, it is very easy to accept that without evidence. That would explain the public reaction of 50% of the coutry up to the present day.

So we've firmly established that there's a willingness to use the enforcement arm of the state to control or discredit political opposition. I feel like over the last 20 years I'm getting pretty close to completing my tinfoil-hat "things that the federal government totally doesn't do" conspiracy bingo card.

Unlike some others I was disposed to believe a lot of the original allegations. First of all, i personally loathed Trump since the day he came on the scene. (USFL days for me.) I still do not care for the man personally and always turn off the device when he starts talking. so I was inclined to believe some of the stories. I saw him as a vulgar man and I thought that his outsider campaign might make some amateur mistakes in its communications. But the difference is that I'm just a guy reading the paper, not the FBI. It became clear to me very quickly that most of this was false and what was resounding was not that part of it was false but all of it was false. The difference was that I was willing to believe stuff initially because I did not personally care for Trump but changed my mind when the facts came out. They knew almost immediately this was false and then doubled down. They are not an intel agency, they are party activists.

I'm not a seer, but I knew Russia-gate was a lie from the beginning, and it was used to undermine Trump. In other words I knew it was BS from the minute I heard it, but was surprised it took off the way it did, and people, including those on the left believed it. However, I then came to believe the left wasn't buying it either, but it was their way of not only attacking Trump, but being complicit in his ouster, which is also true for the FBI, and the democrats. I also came to see it as very authoritarian and actually turned me off many of the left wing sites I would reference. The left wing media isn't going to give this coverage or if they do they will spin it to diminish it's significance, and as they always do play on Trump hate, and there is still a lot of that around, just bumped into it on a site last week. For many it's intense and full of rage.

I really wish this would l be taken seriously, but I know that it won't. When the CIA was complicit in pushing the lie of Hunter's lap top, because they wanted a Biden win, what happened to them, or to Schiff? Like Hilary, nothing will happen.

I use to be a liberal, now the word is meaningless to me, since being a liberal today means anything goes. I hope you cover the young marine convicted of killing Neely. No recognition we now treat people like Neely with jail time and no mental heath intervention what so ever and then when he a abusive and a potential danger to others we hold those accountable for protecting themselves, and others and in this way we let the BS go on, and on and they don't have to do a damn thing.

A lot of people also believed that Trump was some sort of Hitler in the making and stopping him by any means necessary was justified. It was also quite obvious during the pandemic that to most politics was more important than principle with loads of people reversing their position on the vaccines once Trump was voted out.

No matter what a person's position on Trump is, everyone should be profoundly disturbed by the BS the democrats spewed in complicity with the FBI. They tried to remove an elected president from office and the press and media were complicit, as were too many on the left It reflects how undemocratic we have become. Not to mention the CIA providing cover for Hunters lab top to help secure the election for Biden. This is what people should be focused on, and all should be addressed together. They turned a riot into an insurrection even though many, hundreds were let in by Capital police through the front door. Wouldn't surprise me if the government had a hand in this as well, and then they think Trump and others have no right to question the electoral results?

Yes, I agree, and I'm disheartened that this seems to be okay with many Democrat voters. Those same tools can easily be turned against them.

Well, if you have listened to MSNBC or other channels like it they don't tell it like it is, and it was no big deal, and they hold no one accountable. I knew it was going to be like this because during the Trump years they even had many on the left going along with their lies and anti-democratic position, and they can go to hell.

I know and it takes all the good feelings out of the Durham report. No one will be held accountable for the lie pushed by the FBI, the democrats, Clinton, and all those on the left that knew better, as did the mainstream media. They all used it as an opportunity to attack Trump and his credibility, and act in complicity with the democrats to remove him from office. Interesting that the left who knows how vile Clinton is, and how willing she is to start wars would think she is the better choice, now all that went after Trump on the left I loathe.

As I recall from reading the account of Hillary’s campaign Shattered by the journalists embedded in it, the campaign talked openly among themselves about implicating Trump in a Russian scandal. I severed a friendship over her fury that I wouldn’t vote for Hillary. I fundamentally distrusted her, but had no idea how deep and wide her machinations could extend.

This is formal confirmation of “espionage” by the democrat leadership (perhaps with assistance from never-trump reps). It must have , beyond reasonable doubt, impacted ballot decisions in both 2016 and 2020 election. Maybe a complaint could be lodged with the UN, as happens with banana republics?

The whole Trump Russia hysteria was obviously fake from the start, for one simple reason: Trump could never be anyone's "asset"! Trump can't even be his own "asset"!

Imagine the worst fever dream is true and Trump supposedly has some quid pro quo with Putin: who would believe (and rest easy) that Donald will be fulfilling his end of the bargain?? (Putin aint that stupid.)

Trump had a 40-yr track record in business before his world-shattering descent down his golden escalator. How many people had he burnt up to that point? How many times did he make an agreement on Monday only to change his mind on Tuesday? Who could trust this man to do anything except whatever he feels like (and benefits him) in the moment?

Too erratic to be successfully bribed: Trump 2024!

I think it's easier to convince people that Ernst Röhm was a hero who survived "The Night of the Long Knives" and slayed Hitler than to convince people Trump is not Hitler.

I mean part of convincing people is finding common ground.

Maybe we should consider Röhm DeSantis 2024?

The propaganda techniques perfected on the supposedly educated and enlightened denizens of the Blue Bubble are an impressive sight to behold: just say "Trump" or "Republican" and the Pavlovian response appears instantly: energized anger and hatred for the Nazi enemy, with of course the undercurrent of punitive morality: disagree instantly and completely or else be tossed into the pit of those beyond the moral pale...Denounce or Be Denounced! Only Nazis disagree!

I would almost feel sorry for these anxious and addled lab rats if they weren't enemies of free thought, speech and expression.

Lolol. It's a chronic psychosomatic fibromyalgia, easily exacerbated into acute spasms of mental pain by anything approaching the rationale.

I deal with it all the time. It's like being Ralph in Lord of the Flies and trying to convince them there's not an Orange Beast. But the very mention of anything that somehow can be tangentially tied to The Beast sends them in a paranoid search for a pig's head they can mount on a stick.

They don't even realize they've painted their faces in an orange jaundice, surrounded by flies, while they do their primitive ritual dance completely unaware the smoke signal has gone out.

You have to view it as some sort of derangement or you end up beating "Simon" to death because you think he's a beast.
