I don't think I've seen anything this juicy since maybe when the Heaven's Gate cult woke up to discover that the flying saucer that was supposed to whisk them to their home planet had failed to appear.

What a rich and delicious buffet of psychopathology is on display! If only our professoriate weren't totally corrupt (as well as being in the cult themselves), how many books could they get out of dissecting the brains of our liberal clerisy?

The cognitive dissonance is just monumental—how come you didn't vote for us, you evil racist fascists! OR I'm a rich and famous lesbian immigrant trapped in a racist patriarchy! OR It's in your best interest to let us dictate to you what your best interests are! OR Our candidate wasn't a dunce, you're a dunce for not recognizing her obvious brilliance! OR We're the Party of female autonomy—unless you're a woman who voted against us! OR Latinos who don't believe in open borders must hate themselves! OR The candidate who no one voted for and who avoided almost every interview was the last hope to save democracy!

But at least the Heaven's Gate cult had the integrity to kill themselves when their prophecy fell flat, something tells me that the most the liberal clerisy can muster is more performative tantrums while turning up the NAZI! FASCIST! whines to 11.

Ahhh these past few days have been like sitting in front of the world's largest box of chocolates and trying to decide which one to eat next.

Keep em comin', Brad!

Hilarious, reminds me of the old saying a Republican is a Democrat who got robbed, a Democrat is a Republican who got arrested although the story did go another direction - could have done with an additional joke about reparations.

I feel the same about politics in general, it all seems like a doomsday cult where every election is either salvation or the end of the world. The tears and anger and tantrums I'm not sure if it's a new thing or just more visible through social media. Religious people at least have their classical religion to fall back on (or supersede it), for some politics is all there is.

Well CP, This is first time in history a previous president had to beat a person who's only qualification is not recognizing they're dumber than their boss, who is too incompetent to stand trial or run for reelection, without getting a single vote in order to replace the boss still "running" the country for 8 months, despite that being the reason she took his place to begin with.

I guess dumb is the new smart if you plan on convincing half the country to vote for you because they think the other half are too dumb to see that voting for a person dumber than their legally incompetent boss makes them smart!

Whos looking smart now sucker's?

Tomorrow garbage will be the new smart.

Well, other than the somewhat accurate comment from Asha. Harris not appearing on Rogan podcast that could reach 40+ million audience to make her case was a mistake. Dems need to expand their outreach beyond the usual suspects.

And I've got to add that the video from the NYT is pointless. Anyone could prognosticate on the "worst things that could happen" under any incoming president and paint a dystopian picture.

Honest to god it was just the visuals of the people in that video...Just look at all of those smarmy, elitist opinion columnists and think for a second that they are the loudest voices in the room at our country's "paper of record." Kind of astounding how detached the chattering, "educated" class has become from the vast majority of their 350 million countrymen....

What a vast gaggle of dumb cunt... Of both sexes...

Gotta go back over it for the humor...

But one thing:

The fact Harris got "15 million votes fewer than traitor joe" does not mean this result is "hacked." It means 2020 was hacked, and this is the proof. Trump is getting almost exactly the same number of votes as 2020.

It has been quite entertaining watching some Dems suddenly start wondering where those 15 million votes disappeared to after the last election.

Yes, trying to square the fact that 20 million more people overall voted in 2020 than in 2024, even though most voting locations were reporting excellent turnout this time, right?

Burger me sideways, chief! I thought I’d read a lot of reactionary hatred from the chai latte club, but that was actually mind blowing. So much intolerant, self serving stupidity and hyperbole in one place (yet I suspect we’ve barely begun to raise the tarp on what lies beneath).

Fun fact: like many, I was leftist and idealistic as a young man, but even then the fury reserved by the true believers for any transgression of the party line made me queasy. As I grew older, I began to notice that it was almost always conservatives who would respectfully disagree, or at least not viscerally despise you, for holding an opinion with which they disagreed.

Thank you, Brad, for assembling this montage - some of it made me laugh out loud, but I wouldn’t have had the stomach for the task. You took one for the team and it’s appreciated!

Man, I hear this. I'm still a leftist at heart on some issues, definitely more centrist on most issues. Would classify myself as conservative on very little. Basically, I think of-age, consenting American adults should mostly be able to do whatever the fuck they want, so long is doesn't impinge on the rights of other Americans.

But I have to stop and take note of the fact that I am downright GLEEFUL watching the democrats and their despicable talking heads tear each other to shreds over this election. Can I actually be a leftist if this is such an appealing thing to me? I sort of question it. Anyways, I'm going to rewatch that clip of Jimmy Kimmel crying during his monologue while I touch myself.

It would be totally funny if most of these people weren't so deeply disturbed. Especially the couple with the two trans kids, and the woman who wants to turn in her Latino neighbor and his parents.

Expand full comment
Ministry of Truth's avatar

Couple with two trans kids, the odds of that happen by random chance are about as high as winning the lottery twice. At least the odds of them having grandchildren (trans or otherwise) are 0. And how likely is that the woman only imagines that the neighbors parents are illegals because she thinks all first generation immigrants are all illegals?

Expand full comment
GenericBot6886's avatar

LOL I laughed at "our trans daughters" as in multiple. At a percent of a percent of the overall population, if BOTH of your kids end up trans women, I think its time to have a "nature vs. nurture" discussion with your self-harming hubby about your parenting style...

You only *think* these people are crazy until you read their impressive bios:

Jed Shugerman is a Boston University law professor who has appeared on Anderson Cooper 360. He is entrusted with teaching the youth of America. We are impressed with your Yale credentials, good sir!

Armand Domalewski has YIMBYs for Harris listed on his LinkedIn profile. He correctly observes that MSNBC, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, the NYT, WaPo, The Guardian, New Republic, New Yorker, New York Magazine, Slate, Salon, Forbes, The Economist (which took out ads against Trump), and Vanity Fair do nothing but bash Democrats. Impressive insight.

Malcolm Nance is a former Navy officer who has written books on terrorism and founded Terror Asymmetrics Project on Strategy, Tactics and Radical Ideologies (TAPSTRI), a Hudson, New York–based think tank. A recent book is titled: "They Want to Kill Americans: The Militias, Terrorists, and Deranged Ideology of the Trump Insurgency." Impressive scholarship rank unlocked!

Philip Gourevitch writes for the New Yorker. Sort of impressive. I mean, what talented Lefty doesn't write for the New Yorker?

I would like to think, against all odds, that Democrats will for once learn the right lessons from their loss. But these are the voters they want to appeal to.

Expand full comment
Ministry of Truth's avatar

There are the voters they hear from. The bizarre thing is that politicians live in the same perpetual present as the corporate press and social media users where they totally disregard election results (the only time where they get feedback from the whole country) in favour of rigged polls or internet loudmouths. Or just do what their corporate donors want.

Not a huge Tucker fan but I did catch that interview and found it actually fascinating. I hadn't really considered the implications on the country's mental health until he brought it up.

The crazy part is, his dire prediction was based on a scenario where Trump eeked out a win. Do you think the landslide feature of this election outcome makes his already grim predictions more or less dire?
