Great title. I miss Tom Wolfe. Oh what egomaniacal bubbles his pen could prick here in the 2020s. I was just re-reading "Mau-Mauing the Flack-Catchers" last week. He saw the whole government-created Social Justice industry coming in the "Poverty Programs" and community-organizers of 70's.

As for AOC, fashion, and self-awareness: Wearing a designer dress that said Tax the Rich to an event where the elites paid $35,000 a table was a moment worthy of Marie Antoinette at her worst. "Let them eat Cantillon Money."

Love Tom Wolfe. It took me longer than I wished it had to discover him. Bonfire of the Vanities is a favorite of mine. I've never read Mau-Mauing the Flack-Catchers, but I will now. And yes, the infamous "Tax the Rich" charade was fiction-worthy.

I am grateful for the report that she has been ranked the least effective of New York legislators, if not surprised. She was apparently unable to deal with one or more household appliances in her new DC apartment, though effectively brought up in wealthy Westchester County, NY. I suppose her high school education did not include learning how a bill becomes law, as mine did, and as countless cohorts of children learned courtesy of ‘Schoolhouse Rock.’

I got a buddy who's from her district in the Bronx. His family is probably one of the only ones that hangs up a Trump 2024 flag at get-togethers. They're mostly fire-fighters and cops.

I was gratified to learn how low she ranks in effectiveness as a legislator from New York, if not surprised. I recall she was unable to grasp how to operate household appliances in her new DC apartment, which in itself is a surprise as she was essentially a child of wealthy Westchester County, NY, not the Bronx. Perhaps her high school education did not cover how a bill becomes a law, as I learned, and countless children after me, from ‘Schoolhouse Rock.’
