It's 100% about the narrative, 100% of the time. The fact that nobody from the mainstream is interested in the story proves they're not here to inform.
There's a reason that media trust is cratering and government is trying to shore up the 'approved' presstitutes. The entire industry doesn't just all happen to parrot the same lies in the same manner (ie, insurrection), they're being directed from the top.
As I've heard from another well-sourced and erudite individual, there is no such thing as "misinformation" or "disinformation." There is only information you believe or information you don't.
If one chooses to believe BS, that is their truth, their "information," even though it should simply be characterized, by those who recognize the truth, as BS, not as "misinformation."
This leftist campaign against "misinformation" is exactly what you describe - attempts by those who are uncomfortable with the information to portray it as false when in fact it very well may be true, yet unpalatable, unflattering, or embarrassing to leftists. "Misinformation" to the leftists simply means "information that is not congruent with our narrative/worldview" or "information that we'd rather not see presented."
In the culture of disinformation ("disinformation") and the "fight" against it, of course, it is not about the truth, but about who has the last word. Only on Substack, read Michael Senger's latest story about DRASTIC founding member JJ Couey. There we are dealing with planetary "disinformation" (misinformation).
From the point of view of neuropsychology, a lie is more complicated, it activates more neural connectivity, it tends to form a "story"; factual truth is simple, reflective, does not have such great cortical demands as a lie. Disinformation, the real lie, has its own psychophysiological pattern, unlike factual truth,
Remember when the Left started talking about Fake News? One of Trump's brilliant acts was to take the phrase and turn it against the Left. It's really too bad no one with a major voice has co-opted "misinformation" in the same way.
The damage done by this episode in particular defies description. This succinct, on-target massacre comes close. These snarky assholes deserve the Bob Probert treatment in the worst way. In lieu of that, learn to code, jerks
This "online safety experts say" quote looks to me like an attempt to editorialize while pretending it's news. Name your experts. Show your evidence.
A real journalist would also probably be interest in why so many "senior officials" and government agencies are leaking like a sieve and how this is a problem for the integrity of any investigation. It also lends a lot of credence to the theory that the deep state is conspiring against certain candidates. And perhaps consider that sources that repeatedly tell lies aren't worthy of having their identity protected.

If we needed more proof.

That's really interesting, I'll have to look into that.
