I've probably mentioned here before that my wife is friends with some pretty well-known NYT journalists, and it's hard to describe the abject terror they've been living in since the glory days of the Resistance. To say they live "walking on eggshells" would be an understatement.

They knew that even one awkwardly worded sentence that could have somehow been misconstrued by anyone anywhere at any time as helping the Orange Beast, if dredged up and plastered on social media, would result in an immediate and unappealable death penalty—and not just career death, but financial and social death, as they would be ostracized by all the Right Thinkers of brownstone Brooklyn. (My friend knows Alan Dershowitz's granddaughter and she was blackballed by all her friends in junior high once Dersh defended Donald. His granddaughter! Disinvited to every event!)

Our regime journalists were terrified of saying a single bad word about Biden, never mind revealing his senility, because they all knew that if Biden lost to Trump it might be pinned on one of them, thus their inherent conformity, status anxiety and survival instincts made telling the truth impossible.

They have destroyed their own credibility and put the lie to their self-flattering conceit as fearless defenders of democracy (lol), but they can and never will admit it, which is why this will be brushed under the rug.

Chuck Todd went on some show or another and said exactly that. Of course they all knew, they just couldn't say anything because that would be seen as helping Trump. Video in this article:

The job of the media now is to defend Our Democracy™ by any means necessary, even if that means lying about the President and refusing to investigate his condition and refusing to ask who was running the executive branch. (Not only did they never question Biden's mental competence they never investigated any allegations of his family's corruption, not even the giant diamond Hunter got from a Chinese oligarch.)

That they refuse to do any of this even now shows that all these parasites know that having an original thought is absolutely verboten. Narrative Uber Alles.

Even if we accept for one second the absurd premise that hundreds or thousands of people whos job it is to pay attention to the president ALL missed this.

Why on earth would the media ATTACK the people who weren't missing it, and insist everything was just fine?

Wouldn't they....you know.....journalism? Figure out what the truth was and report that?

But they didn't, and we all know why.

How will they explain that many people saw Biden’s decline and said so? Were these people all clairvoyant? Did they have some supernatural power?

Apparently Jake Tapper has settled on a “there were two Bidens” explanation. A normal Biden that all the journalists saw, and a declining Biden who was hidden away.

They really think we are as stupid as they are. But I’ve noticed in life that’s not unusual. Stupid people generally have no idea that other people are a lot smarter than they are.

Which is fucking HILARIOUS, because at the time the narrative was ALSO that there were two Bidens -- the old and frail one being seen in public, and the sharp-as-a-tack elder statesman running circles around his staffers behind the scenes.

Jake Tapper Uncovers Startling Evidence That Biden’s Decline Was Covered Up By Jake Tapper

https://babylonbee.com/news/jake-tapper-uncovers-startling-evidence-that-bidens-decline-was-covered-up-by-jake-tapper

In a shocking exposé, CNN anchor Jake Tapper has revealed new evidence that Biden's mental and physical decline was covered up for years by Jake Tapper.

"These allegations regarding Jake Tapper are disturbing," said Jake Tapper. "The idea that someone would use their power as a journalist to lie and withhold essential information from the American public is beyond the pale. This Jake Tapper guy, whoever he is, should be ashamed of himself."

The bombshell report was detailed in a new book by Jake Tapper. It chronicles years of egregious cover-ups and collusion between the White House and a cooperative and corrupt press, including several newly leaked conversations between aides about putting Biden in a wheelchair for his second term. At the center of the scandal, it appears, is someone named Jake Tapper.

The discipline in enforcement of the narrative would have impressed Mao

What we just managed to live through certainly qualifies for the greatest presidential scandal in my lifetime. I can’t get the image out of my mind of when it was casually reported that Biden mentioned at a fundraiser that we were closer to World War 3 than at any time since the Cuban missile crisis and the media just yawned about the fact that a dementia patient held the nuclear football.

It makes Watergate and Clinton’s cigar look like the non-events they now seem to be in retrospect. But this time the media was utterly complicit in this scandal, so I don’t think we will be seeing something equivalent to All the President’s Men becoming a hit movie in the future.

The other thing they should learn from this, but won’t:

They all scream that they are terrified of Trump and Fascism!

The truth is that they are all terrified of each other. They know what their cult does to people who step out of line. Maybe that should tell them something about what they have been supporting.

The media now thinks that it is their job to bring about the “correct” political result. Telling us whatever they think will get us to that result takes precedence over quaint notions of journalistic purpose like truthfulness and objectivity.

The Tapper book is part of this project. It pretends that it’s a journalistic reckoning, but it’s just more coverup and propaganda. They’re all still lying to us all the time about everything.

Consider that New Yorker headline: "How Joe Biden Handed the Presidency to Donald Trump." Its shape is the shadow not just over this cover-up, but of the media's manipulation of public discourse. A reasonable person, informed by Biden's performance on the national stage, by a media relentlessly running defense, and by the Wall Street Journal's behind-the-scenes reporting, might expect a pithy overview of this scandal to feature some synonym for "deception." And it might even include the object of that deception (the public) and those indulging in the charade (the administration, the media, the Democratic party).

Instead, we're presented with a headline (and what I'm presuming is the narrative lesson) that zeroes in on the *real* tragedy of this sordid affair: that Donald Trump ended up becoming president.

Follow this path: Despite a disastrous showing on the debate stage, Biden wins the election. Is this book written? is there a REASON for it to be written? Or is that energy instead directed into a massive group effort at narrative control and attacks on critics into his second term? "Cheap fakes." "The President is in charge." "Are you a doctor?" "Don't be such an ageist." "It's a stutter, you ghoul!" "FDR was in a wheelchair, too!"

Brad knows what's what: If this had been a Republican administration, the media would never shut up about the president's every move and what, according to their flights of interpretive fancy, it means. The expert class of professors and medical professionals would gain near-instant Resistance cred, major PMC status, and Bluesky adoration as they make the rounds on the liberal elite circuit with Team Blue appearances on MSNBC, quotes for the New York Times, interviews on NPR.

I get incensed thinking about what the media has done these last 15 or 20 years. MSM got really bad when trump took office, but it had been heading down the drain for a long time. And now tapper and thompson want to cash in on their own complacency, on their own weakness and their own lies. It's the ultimate bravado. Thank God for other journalistic outlets like for example this one!

If we can look at the man as an individual and not worry about the other guy. Joe Biden is old and what we were seeing was a man normally aging out of the ability to hold the job of President. There’s no crime in getting old. However, we really should consider moving forward how age affects the ability to successfully complete the job(s). Our system was created in an era where most individuals did not live this long so brain deficits didn’t come into play. We have an age requirement at the early end regarding who can be president. We should establish a limitation at the other end. Are there individuals younger than 35 capable of running the country? Yes, but generally speaking we limit who can run. The same rationale should apply at the other end. Are there those who can lead even in their 80s? Yeah, but the general rule of caution should prevail. Same with Congress, we should not be seeing six term Senators and 15 term Reps. We should rethink lifetime appointments to SCOTUS as well.

I agree. I've always steered clear of just attacking Biden individually. My grandmother is currently struggling with a similar decline and it's very sad and obviously no fault of her own.

My issue is with the people who propped Biden up for the sake of maintaining power, and the mainstream media folks who decided their civic duty was to protect Team Blue rather than ensure the country was properly informed.

I would agree, but I wouldn't want the age limit on the low end to be any lower.

No matter how bright, mature and insightful, etc.etc a 30 year old (for example) is they do not have enough chronological experience (life in general) to develop the wisdom someone should have in an office of that capacity. Especially since, above all else, that is by far the single most important attribute required for the most powerful person in the world.

An argument could be made that all the other attributes required for the job would be inadequate (or too shallow) without the benefit of time to develop a certain level of wisdom in order to hone the other skills

At a certain age you need to take a driving test each year to renew your license…politicians should do the same.

Expand full comment
Larry Shell's avatar

Yeah, well, here’s the thing. My late father should have stopped driving. He just didn’t have the reaction time needed to be safe. We encouraged him to stop without success. We thought that at his next reapplication for his license which required a behind the wheel test that the State would end his driving career. Nope. It was shocking that they allowed him a continued license, so I have little faith in the actual screening. That’s why I believe in an upper age limit. You cannot be say 75 or above on Inauguration Day. Of course, if we could create a screening for all candidates to weed out other issues…one that we would have faith in and trust the outcomes…I wouldn’t turn that down.

I almost tend to believe Tapper, he might have been duped. He's not a journalist - sitting in front of a camera and reading from a teleprompter doesn't make you a journalist (or president for that matter). But he definitely never asked questions and just sold the lie.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they try to pin the blame on Trump. Claiming that the Trump side is lying so much that they automatically discount anything they say. Claim that it all sounded like misinformation (same trick they did with the Hunter Biden laptop).
