"The people who mobbed that Capitol were there in fealty, in loyalty, to one man — not to the Constitution, of which most of the people who come before me seem woefully ignorant;¹ not to the ideals of this country, and not to the principles of democracy. It’s a blind loyalty to one person who, by the way, remains free to this day."

This is the common drivel of a Democrat partisan hack. I debate them 24x7x365 and the "cult of Trump" meme is so old, tired and wrong that anyone mouthing it can be discounted as brainwashed in media talking points and lacking objectivity. The exact opposite of what we should demand from judge.

The friggin' insane thing is how clear it is that nutjobs repeating these phrases are in fact the cult followers.

They are the cult of anti-Trump... and they are not well... not well at all.

Leftists have always known that truth is their enemy. They want to gag us all eventually. Their support of "free speech" back in the day was a lie.

Their support of "free speech," was support of "their" free speech only. Still is.

The great story of our time that you will never hear about in any MSM is that the idea of an independent, non-partisan judiciary is a fairytale. Right across the 'democratic' West, any institution not explicitly right-wing will eventually become left-wing.

Which is why the judiciary has now become such an effective and essential enforcer for The Party. The overarching message being that if you're considering running for office on any sort of right/populist ticket, be prepared to spend a good part of the rest of your life in court.

Brad, I totally agree with your commentary. I am as much of an opponent of Trump in the 2024 election as anyone, and I am also an unabashed advocate for free speech as guaranteed by the 1st amendment. The gag order is excessive.

I haven’t finished reading, but the idea put forth by the judge is that Trump’s speech will necessarily result in physical violence or physical harm to individuals is telling. She really bought into ‘words are violence’, didn’t she? She should not be a judge. That alone should be disqualifying.

Lawyer here. Judges make all manner of unconstitutional orders. All the time. Sure, maybe they will be overturned at some point, but so what. There are no consequences unless politic ones, and this judge has no worries about that. Nothing new. Trump fucked up. He should have sucked it up. If it was actually stolen, ok, you have 4 years to make sure does not happen again, or at least that you can out harvest your opponent. But he's Trump. Patience is not in his skill set

So it’s, oh oops, a judge is corrupt and we have to accept? The country is ruined and it’s oops? WTF planet are you on? I’m on Earth and we do not have time for oops. Oops = deaths . You okay with that?

I did not say that. There is no "oops". Judges are gods in their minds. This is not new. It's just that they did not do this to a former president before. Get used to it. If you can just throw your opponent in jail, makes the whole election thing a lot easier.

Washington, DC is "“a filthy and crime-ridden embarrassment to our nation”. Everyone knows it. When the man who was president of the United States until a coup took over the nation is prevented from telling the Truth, it is time for the Supreme Court to step in. It is a 1st Amendment issue.

My question is this? If Trump’s rights are stepped on, if all of these overstepped by the prosecution and the judge are challenged, and/or if he is found guilty by a completely partial jury, can this case be 1. Thrown out 2. Appealed? I don't know enough about this kind of law to know much about what can be done.

I don't really like Trump that much either (save for his huuuge entertainment value), but I really feel pushed to defend him on principle. It's really disheartening to see how the judicial system is also completely partisan. There is no way Trump is going to get a fair trial.
