Megan McArdle is right. They are really stupid to think people whose lives have been turned upside down by years of leftist policies are going to cry for government employees losing their jobs.

This will never be truly fixed until we root it out of our schools. Using financial leverage is the way to do it.

I hope the Department of Education gets the USAID treatment.

I went to public schools. I still hate them.

Thanks again for this compilation of mystifying delusion from the progs. I do find it heartening to see some voices of reason amongst the nutters.

“By now it is impossible to ignore the crime rates of recent immigrants to Germany. In 2023, about 41 percent of crimes were thought to have been committed by foreigners.”

That's not counting dual-citizenship, those are usually counted as German. There have been cases where these German citizens needed an interpreter in court, one immigrant also successfully sued since the citizenship test required him to answer questions on the German constitution.

Seth Abramson isn't one to talk about numbers, let alone Musk's IQ. He reliably provided Huff Post readers with the fan fiction that Bernie Sanders had the delegate-math in his favor to take the nomination from Hillary Clinton.

Gawd, does it never end with these ancient, shriveled Hollywood termagents being wheeled out for some meaningless public appearance, when, really, basically everyone had thought they were dead long ago.....

“This was politically naive and criminally stupid for institutions that rely so heavily on U.S. taxpayer support.”

I love this so much.

“The left, not the right, picked this fight. Too many institutions set themselves up as the ‘Resistance’ to Trump and tried to make a lot of mainstream political opinions anathematic, while expecting to be protected from backlash by principles such as academic freedom that they were no longer honoring. This was politically naive and criminally stupid for institutions that rely so heavily on U.S. taxpayer support.” — The Washington Post’s Megan McArdle"

Yes, the stupid Democrats still resisting the DOGE dismantling of their government-funding political machine are in fact clinging to a sinking ship when DOGE would be the equivalent of helping them build a new and sustainable platform where instead of NGO-media driven protests, riots, fear, hysteria and mob character assassination of all political opponents, they would have to put forth positive ideas for solving the nation's problems to appeal to voters.

Trump and DOGE are going to help the Democrats fix their broken ways, while Democrats kick and scream and resist being dragged away from their addictions.

Jane Fonda is a little ridiculous. I remember when she was doing that weekly climate change protest in DC and she was like "I am doing this for my grandchildren's future to SAVE THE PLANET from destruction" but then they started arresting people at the protest every week and then she was like "I can't get arrested right now because I have to go to LA in a couple of weeks to film the next season of Grace and Frankie" so she stopped doing the protests. So, she believes life on planet Earth is in peril and these protests are critical to helping to avert that awful fate, but on the other hand the filming schedule of some random TV series takes precedence over that even though she is very rich and doesn't need the money.

Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur has made a strong statement against immigration. What does she consider to be enough to be an American? She must approve ending birthright citizenship from this statement. Maybe even ending tourism for safety’s sake, don’t you know.
