“[Biden’s] done more in the last three years than most presidents have been able to do in their two terms!” — White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre

He sure has. She's not lying. He's killed the domestic energy sector, outsourced everything vital for our economy to other countries, signed the "Inflation Reduction Act" that brought in higher inflation (endless money printing), opened our borders to unvetted migrants from all over the world and used taxpayer funds to pay them, mandated the military, health care workers and the general populace take a dangerous "vaccine" to keep their jobs, divided the country in every way possible through his rhetoric, demonized half the population as "extremists," used NGO's and Big Tech to censor all dissent, prosecuted his political opposition, and the list could go on and on. He's got us involved in multiple wars. He is throwing endless amounts of taxpayer money at these wars, which very much appears to be a money-laundering operation. He's essentially legalized most crime and has made it so illegals have more rights than American citizens. He's done exactly what his masters who pull his strings have told him to do.

Yes, this is the best Biden ever. Reminds me of the Chinese blessing/curse: May you live in interesting times.

That Joy Reid quote about Republicans and how they vote is even more unhinged than her usual takes. It would be funny as hell if she weren’t on a network with a bunch of people listening to her. Well, a few people anyway.

Her divisive vitriol is absolute poison. She is paid the big money to lie and spread divisive propaganda. She obviously has no morals and is of very ill character.

Valerie's avatar

Exactly. And how would she know what republicans think when they’re deciding who to vote for, anyway? She’s obviously never talked to one.

that is irrelevant. she is telling people who think they are smart what they want to hear.

"Donald Trump participated in an erection.” — CNN’s Jake Tapper, during an interview with Nikki Haley."

Well, they do call him a dick-tator ...

Nikki Haley also participated with an erection in the back seat of a car when she was married.

She has two kids, so she likely participated with at least two of them. Plus, she's a politician, so she is surrounded by them.

Liberals seem to be losing the little they have Left of their hive collective minds over what seems to be an incoming Trump presidency. Given the historical forces against his second presidency, Mr Trump should be extremely careful what he drinks, eats & breathes, even who he touches. If they can bring about a pandemic & lockdown against billions, an induced stroke seems like a strong political possibility against one man. Ugly politics makes for ugly policy.

Joy Reid's projection makes me laugh. "Republicans vote on race." In 2016, 87% of black registered voters identified as Democrats. White registered voters, 54% Republican. Black voting along racial lines is why Coleman Young served 20 years as mayor of Detroit (from 1974 to 1994) when the city was going down the toilet. He was always overwhelmingly reelected.

You are so right to call out this hypocrisy ( to be added to the long list of hypocritical Dem talking points). Dems have counted on winning 90% of the black vote for decades.

thats one version but what strikes me is that, when I see people complaining about the collapse of our cities, they generally fall into two categories.

1. Those, like me, who had enough and moved.

2. those who do not live there at all

the people who remain in the cities do not seem to very troubled by all of this. they have continually re-elected those that delivered these results with rock solid majorities. The only serious protests are about the feeble attempts made to keep order. (I have always maintained that the police are the business end of the welfare state.) I am old enough to have seen this movie before. This deterioration also happened in the 60's & 70's. it was only stopped by a generation that aspired to success that wanted to live in the city as that was their route to success. They demanded change and got it. No such demand exists anymore and those remaining appear content.

I don't want to be right about this but i cannot escape this conclusion.

That's a good point. I was thinking it's a cycle where things get bad, reaction occurs and things are made better. Then people get spoiled, rules relaxed, chaos returns, and there would be another reaction against the problems and things would be fixed. I wasn't thinking about the generation of people who would be required to make these cities bounce back. What if they are content and it never happens? I agree with you and hope you're wrong. But it does seem like a reasonable conclusion.

yes - that was my original thinking too. however, there are cities that never recovered, like detroit which made me question that thinking,. The recent election in Chicago confirmed it.

Its a head scratcher and can lead one into some very dangerous territory with the censors but as Holmes said, when you eliminate the impossible that which is left, as bewildering as it is, is the answer.

Right, Detroit with Chicago following their "approach." So it looks like the difference is demographics, which cannot be discussed. I hadn't thought of what happened to Detroit and have written off similar cities as never coming back - until the hipsters come in and gentrify.

There’s something strange about New York bringing in the NG with the excuse about keeping people safe when they haven’t cared before.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the Governor has had a briefing telling her there’s a terrorist threat about to happen.
