There is a commonality in all this inanity that I think is really a key to our slide into social disaster.

That horrid thing the AWFL Kathy Hochul said, which might be the most bigoted statement made by a politician this century, but is of a piece with other Dem projects like abolishing grades, no longer requiring SATs, lowering standards across the board in the name of "Diversity" but really just being rank White Saviorism;

then of course the Trans and border disasters, both predicated or at least defended by the premise of "care" and "compassion"—crossing the border is an act of love! surge to the border because we want you and your family to have a better life—and then the poor juvenile sufferer of gender dysphoria, who needs all their illusions upheld and a free lifetime supply of sex hormones—you don't want a dead son instead of a live daughter, do you, bigot? All of this is endless happy talk and slimy salesmanship in place of adult conversation and the recognition of trade-offs and unexpected consequences;

and now the campus Infantada, where our most famous colleges have transformed simultaneously into madrassas of Jew hate—what else does "River to the Sea" mean but the erasure of Israel? why are "Zionists" the new Nazis when every other faith has at least one or more homelands?—performed by children who don't even know which river or sea they're talking about it, and excused and supported by our shameful spineless liberal class, who suddenly respect speech and have turned a blind eye to all this hateful sloganeering.

All of this boils down to stupid and destructive acts getting social approval and protection based entirely on the modern mantras of "they meant well" "their hearts are in the right place" "they just want to make the world a better place" 🤮 etc...how is it that warm feelings and spurious good intentions have suddenly taken the place of adults and adult responsibility? Is this where modern liberalism has led us, to where all is excused if you swear you meant well? Not only have feelings replaced facts, they've replaced reality.

Thanks, Brad!

"which might be the most bigoted statement made by a politician this century,"

That's a high bar.

Back when my kids were still little kids, we would drive up and stay with a friend who lived on coastal Oregon. He had a boat, and would take us all out (plus his own kid) in the harbor-bay area of the local river mouth to go crabbing. The dad's job was to bait the traps and them pull them up out of the water. The kids job was to toss out all the females, and also the males that were too small to keep. I had to teach the kids how to tell the difference between female crabs and male crabs. It was easy. Just like people, you flip them over and look.

The quote regarding covid deaths... I have a similar story. My mom's friend, age 100 (yes, 100!) had been declining for a few months in 2020 or 2021 and finally passed away from OLD AGE, in her home with hospice care. Her death certificate said she died of covid. The family questioned it because she did not die of covid (never tested, not sick) and they were told a similar story, i.e., it was better financially for everyone if she died of covid. The hospice told the family that one of the caregivers had tested + at some point so they could legitimately put covid on the death cert. This is further evidence that the covid death count was fabricated.

“A person’s sex is what they were assigned at birth based on biological characteristics of maleness or femaleness as indicated by chromosomes, gonads, hormones and genitals.”

Yes, clearly. One week the lab equipment was defective and as a result all babies were "assigned" as boys. What hospital looks at chromosomes or hormones in a healthy newborn? Trust the experts I say, if the doctor decides it's a boy...

"Just a reminder that tuna fish are individuals who didn’t want to die to be your sushi dinner.”

Thankfully, the halibut and blackfish we caught up in Alaska were volunteers on a suicide mission. I salute them as I coat their fillets in bread crumbs and crushed almonds. A dash of lemon juice? Yes, that's how they would have wanted to be eaten. One of them mouthed "taco ... eat me in a taco" just before the deck hand crushed his skull with that metal pipe.

I need to get one of those shirts that says "Vegan food is the food of my food"

Democrats often project, the dumbest ones the most. Maxine Water is a moron, but it concerns me when she says this:

“I wanna know about all of those right wing organizations that [Trump’s] connected with, who are training up in the hills somewhere and targeting, you know, what communities they’re going to attack.” — Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), during an interview with MSNBC.

The staggering, rambling cluelessness in the Politico piece about the decline and collapse of modern journalism is kinda funny, and isn't Maxine Waters and the entire clown car of the Congressional Black Caucus the most abysmally stupid group of humans ever voted into office anywhere, anytime, anyhow....

“It would be hard to overstate the degree to which many academics at Harvard and beyond feel intense and growing resentment against the DEI enterprise because of features that are perhaps most evident in the demand for DEI statements.”

After reading this over and over and over....then editing the thing to try to get to the point of it without all the fluff....I still have no idea what he is trying to say.

I just tried to do it too, and you're right, it's hard. Probably not the best quote to include in the list. That line actually comes at the *end* of the piece that's linked - "Mandatory DEI Statements Are Ideological Pledges of Allegiance. Time to Abandon Them." - which is why it seems kind of incoherent on its own.

Hey I appreciate that. Without full context, I simply could not break down "features that are perhaps most evident in the demand for DEI statements". What features? Who is demanding them? DEI statements?? Makes sense now!

"A person’s sex is what they were assigned at birth based on biological characteristics of maleness or femaleness as indicated by chromosomes, gonads, hormones and genitals.”

Pretty sure it's just the genitals. I don't remember my own birth or if I was asked any questions about how I felt about my gender, or whether that little blue head things the nurses put on me made me feel uncomfortable or erased.

But, I was there for both my sons births, and no such discussions were had. Nor were any chromosome tests given. (Hormones?)
