"There is joy in the future, there is joy in having your boss be a black woman.’"
90% of Kamala Harris' hires quit on her and many then went trashing her to the media. Not because she's black, because she's a terrible boss and impossible to work with.
Some of those tweets seem to me like people who have a very unhealthy obsession with race. If the fact that you're black(ish) and a woman is the only thing interesting about you you deserve pity, not praise. Nobody cares.
If we woke up tomorrow after some Twilight Zone event where we all turned the same weird shade of gray, she would have nothing to say and nothing to offer.
But Booker T Washington said it best over a century ago:
“There is another class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”
Joy "Keepin' it real" Reid: A bald white guy astronaut is more "white bread" than a white guy social studies teacher with white hair who is being given an MSM tongue bath because he's the most normie white thing they've seen outside of a sitcom, and it gives them the tingles.
This is especially weird since so called "white" people don't really see themselves that way, even Biden sometimes identifies as Irish heritage, not a particular shade of white. It doesn't matter to normal people.
'“Since #TamponTim is trending I’ll point out that in high school, any boy who casually was like ‘Oh you got ur period? I stashed a pad from the bathroom in my backpack in case one of my friends needed it’ — that boy would be king stud. That boy would be drowning in prom invites.” — Washington Post columnist Monica Hesse, who writes about “gender and society”'
Admittedly it's been 50 years since I was in high school. But I've been scratching my head over this statement since I first read it. Not that today's boys might carry around sanitary pads to offer their stricken female friends. But wondering why said female can't just go to the girls bathroom and get one for herself, because she has to go in there anyway to deploy it. I just don't see any improvement in the efficiency of the process.
"I stashed a pad from the bathroom in my backpack in case one of my friends needed it’ — that boy would be king stud. That boy would be drowning in prom invites.” LOLOL
Monica doesn't seem to have met any kind of man or any kind of woman not in her cult of performative white guilt. Outside of their very status-conscious anxiety-filled Calvinist Portlandias, any boy who did this would be called PUSSY till college.
The Gender cult has devoted their lives to a very bizarre egalitarian crusade where, in order to make a few "gender confused" children feel better about themselves, Justice demands we turn all boys into girls.
And once you commit yourself to something this stupid, everything you say will be deeply stupid.
Yeah, I thought this as well, why wouldn't she just go to the (in the case of Minnesota boys) bathroom and get a pad / tampon? It didn't make sense from any perspective. And I, like you, haven't been in high school for 50 years so I asked my wife who up until 4 years ago was teaching in public high school in Seattle if this kind of thing went on. She just shook her head and said, "no I never heard of or saw boys offering feminine hygiene products from their backpacks."
Sounds like "Dear Penthouse" to me. The only way I can think this play out is some girl being annoying and a guy giving her a tampon to humiliate her. "Stop being so annoying, here have a tampon you're obviously on the rag!".
Also the whole point of the policy was for the boys to use the tampons or pads when they're menstruating (presumably from their manginas), not to score prom invites.
I live in San Francisco and Kamala Harris has never been joyous. Grim and heartless, especially after the sentencing of a police killing/drug dealing thug. The whole city was in mourning over this police officer's assassination. https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/trump-campaign-press-release-fact-kamala-harris-gave-pass-the-killer-police-officer-isaac. I once met Kamala casually in a neighborhood where she was campaigning. It was just the two of us and I introduced myself as a voter in San Francisco. She immediately turned her back on me. There are quite a few reasons I would never vote for her and her sentencing decision is one.
Remember the evil iciness of her performance during the Kavanah Hearings. Then her handlers told her she was not likeable enough to run for President and she became Chackles the inappropriate laughing school girl with a voice one half octave higher.
She is the most inauthentic, unqualified, candidate on the stage and the people knew it and rejected her.
Damn, used to think Ben Stiller was at least semi-cool, ah well, another one down the drain.......Rogan, Gurri and Sullivan were fantastic though......
Rich white liberals somehow get away with saying the most degrading, patronizing things to or about black people, they really treat them like retarded children.
Ben may wish he was born black, but the rest of us just wish we were born to rich and famous parents like he was.
In the extreme fantasy that Joy Reid lives in, even the choice of Tim Walz as Kamala’s VP filtered through as problematic to the careful littered disarray of her Liberal logic.
For others, stolen valor, military demotion, pandemic lockups, forced vaccinations, censorship, government snitch lines for the Orwellian reporting of non-compliant neighbors seem normal.
Kamala likes him because he’ll be the decisive bully to make decisions that are too difficult for her marijuana damaged brain to deal with. Watch the video where she has to visually check the color of her own suit before being describing the color.
'“Ms. Harris, a former prosecutor — and, more relevantly, a Black woman in the unrelenting spotlight of national politics — wears broad-shouldered suits, pearls and heels, sometimes crisp Chucks. She marshals an arched brow, a studied hand flip, carefully curated sentences. Her wave is controlled, her eyes always fixed on a distant point, her movements smooth.” — NYT’s Rebecca Davis O’Brien'
I'm struggling to choose the appropriate adjective. "Fawning" is inadequate. Lickspittle? Toady? Brownnoser? All of the above?
🤮🤮🤮
And oh by the way, DNC, please circulate another memo providing some approved alternatives to the word "Joy". We in the hinterlands hunger for a little variety.
When I read these quotes, it's almost like a transcendental or hallucinogenic experience. The sides are so diametrically opposed, and some of the quotes so illusionary and out of touch, that it's a surreal experience. My favorite quote was from Monica Hesse, "any boy who casually was like ‘Oh you got ur period? I stashed a pad from the bathroom in my backpack in case one of my friends needed it’ — that boy would be king stud" Really? Most boys don't carry pads around in their backpack hoping against hope they will be asked to provide one, men don't think that way. I understand that women are more open now and announce to the class their menstrual cycles, but unless she's talking about transgender boys, I don't see it happening.
These quotes from Brad today remind me that Democrats perpetually devolve politics down to conflicts of groupism.
You can see what is going on here.
People are born with certain personality traits. Some are gifts, and some are liabilities. The population of Democrats and Republicans is in large respect a filtering process for personality types. I think too as people hang around groups of people demonstrating like personality traits, the traits are picked up and adopted.
My observation as a devoted independent critical thinker living in the middle of Democrat land is that the filtering left includes people more often beset with the liability traits. I think this is proven by the fact that people identifying as liberal are more likely to be diagnosed with mental or emotional health issues. The Democrat attraction to collectivism and this tendency for in-group allegiance and exclusionary posturing, and what Rob Henderson coined as "Luxury Beliefs" is, I think, their attempt to fill that personality liability gap. They flock together in solidarity as those lacking their flaws cause them insecurity and anxiety to be around.
I see them as the "bubble gap people". They were southern racists in the 50s, and war protestors in the 60s and 70s. Now they have more money and power, but their DNA is the same.
All of that would be tolerable except for the fact that the media and many of our institutions are now run by and controlled by these bubble gap people.
THAT is the whole problem. Kamala is a perfect representation of them and for them. She is so flawed in her personality and so weak in her true demonstrated capabilities, that the rest of the bubble gap people cannot help but just love her. Frankly, any dry stick in the mud, as long is it complied with some identity politics labels, would excite these bubble gap people... people that are always on the precipice of fits of depression and despondency that is really only their personal health challenge, but one they have been manipulated by others in their bubble to see as caused by those non-gap, self-confident, critical-thinking, bearded construction workers supporting Trump.
“There is no normality left in the Republican Party. They’re driving the normals out.” — The Lincoln Project’s George Conway, during an appearance on MSNBC"
The people involved in the Lincoln Project are the most disgusting Democrat political hacks on the planet. Add Steve Schmidt to the list with George Conway. I full believe they are all going to hell.
“We lost a lot of people during COVID and most of them are still alive.” — Joe Rogan
Are you old enough to remember the Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethons?
If so, do you remember how weepy all the celebs would get when some sad sick child was wheeled onstage and everyone would applaud them for their bravery and applaud themselves for writing them a large check?
If you just replace the celebs with rich white liberals and replace the sick children with members of the Left's sacred victim classes (blacks, gays, migrants etc), then it all starts to make sense.
This former tournament chess player can testify that chess matches can be very taxing. I definitely lost a game or two because I became too exhausted to think well.

hahahahaha

Joy Reid is a stuck record. That's all she can ever talk about.
She is a professional black person.
If we woke up tomorrow after some Twilight Zone event where we all turned the same weird shade of gray, she would have nothing to say and nothing to offer.

Well I don't view her as a professional black person, but rather as a professional at being black, and only that.
But she's black and therefore your point is invalid. It's got electrolytes.
Hahaha "Brondo's got what plants crave. It's got electrolytes! What are electrolytes do you even know? It's what they use to make Brondo!"
oh my god. Indeed it is Idiocracy..

Frank Costanza would kick his ass!
Dodge Ball and Tropic Thunder were (and still are) excellent movies. I judge the art, and I don't care about the artist's political views.

Lickspittle, oh you mean like flunkie, sycophant, minion, stooge, zealot, worshiper... I just heard a voice saying, "Enough Mr Data."
Thank you, Thesaurus Rex.
So many choices, so little time. I think I like the emoji best though.
I love the thesaurus...
me too, never did get over childhood fascination with dinosaurs

uhh it's not you, it's her
this has never happened and never will
Monica Hesse has gone wayyy too long without exiting or encountering anyone not part of her hermetic ideological bubble.
she is just another cult member hoping to one day be a cult leader.

Joy Reid is just the gift that keeps on giving. Were I to seek anyone's advice on voting, I'd pick her. See what she recommends, then do the opposite.
I missed the Gurri piece this week. Thank you.
