Katie Porter should start a wild-eyed ventriloquist act with her daughter, because that's how her stories play out:
- "Mom, the world is on fire and we're all gonna die,"
- "Mom, Trump won and now I'm a handmaiden with no bodily autonomy."
- "Mom, what do we do if Trump's tariffs increase the cost of imported materials because those taxes are passed along to the manufacturer and Apple stops making iPhones forever??"
Seriously, how many 12 year olds are worried about a pregnancy resulting from being raped? If that were the case with my daughter I would divert her attention to ways to avoid being a victim... not passing out drunk at a party, for example, or leaving your beverage unattended at a bar.
Gawd, the quote from Dem Rep Katie Porter has to be one of the saddest, most pathetic, grotesque, deranged things I've read here....level after level of delusion, receding to infinity......
I admit, Fetterlump has grown on me. I probably would not agree with some of his desired domestic policies, but the dude is honest and to the point. I'm sure his party - at least the proggie Hamas wing of his party - hates him at this point, which is also a plus. Dude ought to run for president in 2028. Why not? Vance v. Fetterlump.
He is from my state of PA and I didn't vote for him initially. But I've definitely warmed to him. He is brazen enough to stand up to his party, especially the Hamas wing. I will likely vote for him if he runs again, although I feel like his party will probably push him out in the primaries with a more progressive party loyalist.
if the best boogeyman you can muster is a failed gubernatorial candidate from 30 years ago, then it just might be time to update your worldview.
i'm starting to think that one of the reasons the official black liberal intelligentsia have been cosplaying Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman is because they can sense that a postracial America is up ahead—and a postracial future means their grievance gets knocked from the top spot and perhaps the Civil Rights era is winding down.
“Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket” is the Eric Hoffer dictum that pertains here. The Civil Rights movement was a massive victory for freedom in its day, but 60 years later it is past its prime and has become a blatant grift. Just don't tell MSNBC.
There's truly zero evidence. The same people who think she's a "Russian agent" also think she's a "conspiracy theorist" because she said the war in Ukraine could have been avoided if the Biden administration/NATO had acknowledged Russia's legitimate security concerns. But even the most basic historical understanding and grasp of international relations and great power politics reveals this to be accurate.
And really a grasp of history, without going back to prince Yaroslav like Putin did in his interview with Tucker Carlson, just look at what happened this millennium and maybe take a look at what was promised to the Gorbachev (arguably one of the best leaders of the 20th century). It's the classic "malinformation", things that are true but make the government look bad. The corporate media also hates Gabbard for kneecapping Harris during her first campaign.
It's another conspiracy theory concocted by the Democrats and the corporate media. If they had any evidence (let alone proof) they would have presented it by now. Falsely accusing someone, let alone a military service member, of treason (which carries quite a stiff penalty from what I hear) is pretty damn low. It worked well on Trump during his first term but I don't think people are going to fall for this again.
@euphoricrecall @mothrut @bookwench Thanks, yeah I didn't think so, have viewed a lot of slander from a lot of people claiming she's putin's buddy, that she's friends with Assad etc. No hard data or evidence that i've found, but it's ok to just make up a story and claim it is truth in order to "SAVE OUR DEMOCRACY!" Right.
Bari Weiss on Joe Rogan (or Rogan on Bari’s podcast)repeated the rumors about Gabbard. Weiss said Tulsi was Assad’s toady. When Rogan asked her what that meant, Bari had to have someone look up toady in the dictionary. When Bari continued to raise concerns about Tulsi, Rogan asked how she knows these things. Bari responded with something like, “everyone knows this.” Weiss spreads rumors without evidence beyond everyone knows and the rest of the MSM is on the same page. Craziness. If I were to make such accusations publicly, I would make sure I was armed with irrefutable evidence. I’m just a historian, not a famous author, journalist, editor. Still, I know how to do my homework. Why doesn’t Weiss?
She was on Rogan's podcast, with the red curtain background. I saw that clip. I was shocked that a journalist, a writer, like Bari Weiss did not know what "toady" means, and cannot even spell it correctly.
It was equally shocking that for evidence all she could say was "everybody knows". This is the same Bari Weiss that worked on the Twitter files?
I love these weekly installments of Liberal viciousness and stunning lack of progressive self-reflection. I have every one of these on file as a constant reminder of why the middle-class should never vote for these dipshits again.
My governor, JB Pritzker, finally makes the Quotes list! God knows he’s been trying for years.
Big talk from the governor of one of the brokest (is that a word?) states in the country. He’s trying to position himself as the leader of the resistance, which he thinks will carry him into the White House in 2028. That’s quite a lift there big boy.
Functionally and logically, Tom Nichols' quote is no different than --
"Family is irreplaceable, especially parents. But replace 'Gabbard' with, say, 'Satan' and ask: Would I want to hang out with my uncle or cousin who think Satan is awesome? 'Gabbard isn't' Satan' isn't an answer. She's more dangerous. Some things transcend politics. "
Aaaaand other things cannot transcend politics. Apparently.
Brad, You do come up with some gems that make me laugh every week. I'd like to review some of your stuff before signing on for a year. What's your background and what is your primary focus in the writing I'll have access to? Thanks, Andy
I'm no one special, just genuinely care about the country. Graduated from West Point in 2014, USC in 2019, served in the Army as an infantry officer. Have lived in a variety of places including Los Angeles for five years.
I mostly write political and cultural commentary (have also posted some fiction short stories in the past). I try to write fairly often, but tend to be a slower writer because my posts are often a bit research intensive.
“Joe Biden has been amazing but he should fulfill one last promise - to be transitional. Biden should resign and make Kamala Harris the first woman president.” — CNN’s Jamal Simmons
Isn't helping to lob missiles into Russia kind of transitional?
If we assume Biden's purported resentment of Harris is exaggerated or made up, then, yes, I think there's really a chance of this, just because of the cynical desire for your party to have the first woman president. Talk about tokenism.
“People felt quite strongly that they didn’t want to see immigrants sleeping in police stations, at airports. I don’t think we were clear enough by saying fewer people came in under President Biden than came under Donald Trump.” — Nancy Pelosi, in an interview with The New York Times
OK, dumb question. Is this anywhere close to true?

Don't worry honey, if the vaccine didn't turn you sterile then the puberty blockers will.

Where is Child Services when you need them?
John Fetterman for the win!

Now that his brain is healing he really has some good points and isn't afraid to tell the truth every once in a while.
David Duke? Cmon, man. Their quiver is empty.
i know, is ridiculous/hilarious.

“Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket”—that one's worth noting.
Thanks Brad, a general question. Are there any actual data which would convince us Tulsi Gabbard is a Putin puppet or is it just Hillary's comments?

Just another Russia Russia Russia smear, started by Hillary in 2016.

Andy, Brad's writing is always amazingly intelligent. Think someone who is inverse of Joy Reid and Rachel MADdow combined. He's incredibly insightful.
Andy, brad is a talented writer, too.

What would we do without MSNBC?
I’m pretty convinced that Timothy Snyder is the CIA/NSAs client.
