“I sometimes joke that I feel like Cassandra in Greek mythology. She was blessed by being able to see the future, but cursed to never be believed. And that’s how I felt in 2016.” — Hillary Clinton, speaking at a Biden fundraiser hosted by Terry McAuliffe in McLean, Virginia. She was referring to her warnings about Donald Trump.
Wrong female figure in Greek mythology, HRC - everyone equates you with Medusa, not Cassandra…,
wouldn't Cassandra have known that she was going to lose the Midwest in 2016? also, having the first tantrum about how evil your opponent is doesn't quite make you a seer. (not to mention the fact that their imaginary Hitler 2.0 was already prez for 4 years and did none of the Hitlery things they swore were about to happen.)
the Dems and their whores in the MSM have built an epistemic rubber room and locked themselves inside.
I'm sure that if Canada's Liberal Party take their cue from the Canadian Cancer Society and focus their next election campaign on addressing the problem of how "many trans men and non-binary people may have mixed feelings about or feel distanced from words like ‘cervix.’" that's bound to be an election winner.
i hate to advocate any form of violence, but the fact that not a single teacher has taken a punch to the nose for trying to turn Johnny into Jenny says more about cultural exhaustion and decadence than a thousand essays could.
I made this comment on Rufo's 'stack the other day: "I have long thought that if the holding of woke opinions ever came to have painful costs for the Woke themselves personally (rather than the 'costs' they impose on the lives of non-woke people lower down the social scale) then wokeness would quickly evaporate". My imagination does not - in my waking hours - envisage these 'painful costs' as involving any kind of physical violence .....but in my dreams I suspect it does.
The problem/challenge in countering the Critical Theory takeover of the West is that none of this could have happened unless the populace was already mostly dislocated and deracinated and also not until after Civil Rights morality had become the reigning belief system of the average Westerner, which the Crit Theorists do a masterful job of mimicking, while gradually expanding both the idea of "rights" uber alles with the concomitant admin class needed to protect these "rights" and punish their opponents.
So they invaded the house only after its alarms were disconnected and all its gates and fences torn down, so the cops won't be coming to the rescue and the squatters are more or less the new owners (to belabor the metaphor).
Anna Slatz hits the nail on the head about noise & living in a poor neighborhood. I will add to her list of noise, gun fire & trying to hide under the rancid carpet of your cockroach infested apartment, the booming amplified exhaust noise of cars or motorcycles racing along the streets & their echos dopplering off the walls. I third that scream for silence.
I think we have to realize what we are up against and Brad sheds a lot of light on that. however, the conversation in my affluent suburb among the AWFLs was aout the draft registration. they were all up in arms and had thoughts and plans for ways their children would be exempted. 2 major points
1. they had no plans to vote against the people driving us into war.
2. they had zero concern for the kids who would be replacing theirs on the front line
My reaction to reading this other than again identifying the breathtaking intellectual dishonesty, is fascination at the sophistication of propaganda chops of the cloned mouthpieces and bullhorns of the Democrat Regime. The subscribers on Schmidt's Substack are some of the most nasty and vile political people I have come across. They are almost as bad on Heather Cox Richardson's Substack. But in most cases, I am alone there debating them.
And there appear to be a lot of them, and they are committed to their groupthink at almost all costs.
This brings me to my conclusion and why I am worried that the Regime will again sneak by with a Democrat win.
Republicans and conservatives, with the exception of people like Brad and a few others, generally suck at articulating a measured and rational counter to the insanity of the current Democrat cabal. I guess this is where the lack of education pays the price. Republicans wait for Trump and Ferguson to articulate the points and then go on a LIKE AND REPOST orgy. Trump isn't always very good at making the case, so it is a very weak proxy for grassroots verbal sparing against the left. And just waiting for a rational leading voice to argue the point isn't good enough. The voice of the crazy Democrats comes from every nook and cranny of the media beast and all its tenacles.
I have conservative friends tell me that they wish they could speak and write about the issues as well as me; yet they never try. They are terrified of being verbally destroyed by the rhetorically well-armed left. I tell them they should be self-confident in rational vs irrational determinations. I also tell them to learn how to control their emotional reactions to insults by them, and to grow thick skin over their education credential insecurity. Because that is what the left needles and pokes to great result. Even though the right claims pride at being called "irredeemable deplorables", it eats at their self-confidence and causes them to question their place on the social dominance hierarchy related to The Elect... the educated elites Karens that think they are ordained to rule everyone else.
What I tell them is that in terms of a dominance hierarchy is that the sane should rule the insane, and thus Republicans should rule Democrats. And in terms of needles and pokes, there are a plethora of opportunities to do so to the left... because they are largely crazy and their egos are fragile as many of them suspect it.
However, as the saying goes... the people in the asylum are crazy, but not necessarily stupid. I would go further and say that the Democrats are both insane and brilliant. And thus unless the rest of us step up are game, we are doomed to a present and future where the insane rule us. We cannot just sit around waiting for a Trump or Ferguson to save us. We are in the middle of a war for the future of western civilization and the crazy Regime-supporting Democrat side is routinely winning every battle.
I feel exactly as your conservative friends who say they wish they could speak and write about the issues in a fluent way. In my head I've started many a letter to the editor to our local newspaper, but I lack the eloquence I want, so I don't bother. It also seems that anyone who writes frequent LTE from a conservative point just becomes a person to ridicule; no progressive is actually listening, even if they read it. I don't know how you can really change anyone's mind.
I say write it. Then sit on it for a day, and read it again and edit it. Then repeat if necessary. Start by making a bullet list of points you want to make. Focus on the topic at hand.
You impact more than you think you do when posting something against the groupthink norm. You do make a difference. You validate what some are already thinking, but more important you provide evidence to readers that there are people out there that don’t accept the prevailing narratives. As long as you don’t attack anyone personally.
This can be difficult because generally Republicans are busy and only get their motivation to write when passionately stirred up over some topic… so it is a reactionary position and it causes an accusatory tone. My first draft gets it out of my system, and then I come back and cut out all of that stuff and focus like a laser on arguments to make my case. And if doing so, it absolutely does influence readers even if you don’t get any tangible feedback.
Iunderstand your frustration but the other reason people do not participate is that they realize that they are dealing with fanatics. they will outlast any reasonable person. they are the ones who sit on school board committees until 2 am when we have given up and win the vote on pronoun policy. It will take a revolt (peaceful hopefully) to replace them.
It is the long-game. When is the best time to plant a tree? Twenty years ago or today. If you stand up to the school board you plant a tree today. More will be emboldened to do the same and then down the road you have a forest.
I don't know which one is worst. Probably not recognizing the difference between a democracy and republic, not knowing you live in one, making fun of people who are right about it, or having people not push back and air it to others so they can be dumdums, too.
Also, don't ya love the whole Trump is 78 to compare his age to Biden? They forget that Biden was 78, too, before he won (was placed)
as if "trans women" aka men don't know they lack a vag...isn't this their life's great struggle? these are all lies no one else believes except the liar in question.
That WaPo story about Trump's age is wild. How do they publish stuff like that without noting its ridiculousness?
"Trump turned 78 on Friday, and would be the oldest president ever inaugurated if he wins in November — a distinction he shares with his older rival."
But Biden will be an even OLDER oldest president ever inaugrated if he wins. He will also be the oldest president ever to serve considering he's three years older than Trump.
And then there's the Alex Wagner quote about Biden having the higher bar to clear during the debates -- isn't the opposite true? I mean, obviously true? That if Biden sounds even fleetingly coherent, he will be judged to have won and those moments will be the only clips that CNN and Wagner's MSNBC will play on a loop.
The only thing I miss about being banned from twitterex is not telling the ugliest man on tv that it's the dumbest cunt in the history of dumb fucking cunts.
The Vanity Fair link is a 12ft link, which doesn’t work. I often use 12ft as well but you can’t share the link, you have to share the original article.
Just follow the “science.” We will make laws. If you don't like it we will scream “racist”and lock you up… just because we feel like it. The “mostly peaceful protesters.”

Related to the great quote from Niall Ferguson, read this crap from Steve Schmidt on the effort to bring back the Washington Post to journalistic normality. https://steveschmidt.substack.com/p/the-washington-post-under-seige
