JK Rowling is spot on. You can believe anything you want to believe, from the earth being flat to men giving birth. But you can't force me to also believe it.
The problem is that in many European countries they are slowly moving towards forcing you to pretend to believe the same things, silencing seems to be just the first step. Freedom of speech is also the freedom to not have to say something.
That Sunny Hostin quote is just one example of the super weird projection Democrats foist on Trump. Where did this come from? Is there any evidence for any of it? No, in her TDS she just made it up.
Also, Taibbi is 100% correct about institutional impunity.
Leftists all claim to have deep insights into the psyches of people they have never even met. Even ordinary commenters on Substack think they know everything about Trump’s inner demons, his motivations, and what he will do in the future. Rarely do they base their comments on actual actions and outcomes. And then they throw in nasty insults just to prove how really smart they are.
It's sort of a mix of fan-fiction and LARPing with themselves at the center, like they somehow defeat the cartoonish villain with a clever tweet or comment. People who are deeply rooted in the mainstream who see themselves as the resistance.
I asked my beard this morning if it was opposed to "feminist ideals" and my beard said it was more of a pragmatist that was in favor of balancing rights with obligations and that being a mother was just as valid as having a career. My beard thinks modern feminism is just another empty word that's become a pretext for performative narcissism and punitive moralism.
Then my beard advised me to get a screwdriver and make a deep hole in my forehead, as brain damage would be the best way to get a 6-figure salary at a major media company.
Gold medal: JK Rowling for dropping the wisdom that is the proper response to: "You're denying my personal truth, you're erasing me," etc. No, I am free to disagree, and that doesn't stop you in ANY WAY from believing what you want.
Silver medal: Eddie Gaude with the emotionalism combined with the "HE'S DANGEROUS" rhetoric that itself is hysterical and dangerous.
Bronze medal: Eric Holder, for the utter gall of talking about lawfare.
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has told all of America that the current administration does not value our laws, does not value Americans & has illegally wasted 1.4 Billion dollars helping people who should not be here in the first place. San Francisco if you get a big nasty earthquake, suck it up. There’s no mo ey left from your taxes to help you. New York City, if you get hit by a hurricane, you can just suck it up too. Your tax dollars went to Venezuelan gangs. And so on. Mayorkas just gave All of America two middle fingers!
I promise you if SF or NYC are hit by any kind of natural disaster, the response would be very different and money would be found to help. Many Party members and many donors live there, as well as many of their friends and children, not to mention the Regime media is centered in these places and you wouldn't want a cranky anchor with a wrecked vacation house having a fit on national TV.
Big cities are Party territory, Appalachia is enemy territory—Deplorables can eat mud.
It's once again a gigantic grift for corporate welfare queens at the teat of the Federal government, aided and abetted by bureaucracy which is as Taibbi put armed with institutional impunity. To help others you must first help yourself seems to be the motto.
Serious compliment: I’m always impressed by people who have the mental fortitude to reject previous beliefs if evidence warrants it. I’m sure it’s not easy.
Watch for this guy in the future: “Don’t ask for the American dream if you’re not willing to obey American laws and embrace the American culture.” — Virginia Senate candidate Hung Cao
Might that just have been a joke? It could very well have meant blessed by Allah, the Devil, the god of regular bowel movements or the Seven. At least now we know what we can say to annoy a stupid person like that.
'“They will use the mechanisms of the DOJ to go after people who are their political foes. This is something that has never really happened in the history of this republic.” — Eric Holder, during an appearance on Jen Psaki’s show.'
I see this all the time with my female professional friends that are liberal. After a few drinks they will admit that they are attracted to me or a guy like me and not the guy they are with. But they say that guys like me are threatened by their education and professional position and thus they have to settle for the lesser men. I laugh and tell them that it has nothing to do with their education and professional position, it is their entitlement that they should be able to have it all and be in control of every detail. I said no self-respecting man wants that for a life despite the higher family income they might enjoy. These women are never willing to give up their expectations to have it all and be in control, so their next play is to attempt to normalize the pseudo man as the preferred model... that way they can both dominate the man while telling themselves they have attracted the best type of man... even as they dream of the other type while making out.
Do you feel threatened? Probably not. It's not a competition, but I think some women heavily project that because they are attracted to competent/high-income men that men are somehow attracted to womens job/income which just isn't the case.. Another problem is that education and professional position usually comes with a giant chip on the shoulder, partially because women imagine that they have it a lot more difficult than they actually do because that's the message that is constantly blasted everywhere. Even the very rich and successful women still often play the victim card. That's not attractive.
I cannot place it. My wife has a friend who is successful independent raised her kid and is totally insufferable. One of the issues is that she reminds everyone how successful she is and it really is no BFD to anyone. She's off putting to me because she is a cynical braggart. i know many male braggarts that i also avoid whenever possible. i imagine she has gotten the same treatment by successful men who might have been attracted to her for her intelligence and independence but were put off. Multiply by about 1 million or so.
Another aside to this: Emhoff cheated on his Ex, got his nanny pregnant and has been accused of striking an ex-girlfriend in addition of allegations of inappropriate behavior at work although of course these allegations have be taken with a grain of salt (unless you "believe all women"). A lot of the male feminists types often turn out to be quite predatory or just plain weird. But this is from the same people who still have some regard for Bill Clinton who I'm pretty sure is a serial predator.

It's yet another example of indulging in "rile up the base" wishcasting.
Yep

My beard is smart!
It's also about economics, raising your own kids on one income contributes nothing to GDP.

The things Democrats say. The Eric Holder quote made me spit out my coffee.
Exactly! Jaw dropping cognitive dissonance, psychological projection, stupendous contempt, you name it.....

There is a solution: surround yourself with migrants so the NYT sends help and tells its readership of Good People who they're allowed to care about.
The Regime has gone full Friend/Enemy and is no longer trying to hide it.
Here is a very interesting Tweet about the government "helping" people vs. citizens trying to help other citizens: https://x.com/ryantyre/status/1841583311782568064

Joy Reid has gone off the deep end, extreme even for a network that specializes in torches-and-pitchforks commentary.
I speak as a former MSNBC daily viewer.
My thoughts exactly, she's losing her marbles, soon she'll be broadcasting from Keith Olbermans basement. It looks like a paranoid delusion.
Serious compliment: I’m always impressed by people who have the mental fortitude to reject previous beliefs if evidence warrants it. I’m sure it’s not easy.
It's not easy. But liberating! And gives one insight into both sides.

So because you say "Have a blessed evening" you are a Christian Nationalist? The left gets more insane by the day. 😱

hahahahaha
MSNBC contributor Katty Kay feministsplaining acceptable masculinity is perfect in helping everyone understand reality is the exact opposite.
One type of man is the one they say they want, the other type is the type they usually end up with.

FTR - she seems pretty miserable too. sad

I thought the JLD quote said exactly the opposite…?
You’re right. I misread it. Out that goes
