"the fight against colonialism and corporations’ destruction of the planet are intrinsically linked."

Moralistic mutants like Greta Thunberg will cross the globe in their gilded cocoons lecturing poor countries about what they should grow, eat, wear, how they should live, will excuse and defend all their most destructive behaviors (of course you committed a bloody massacre, you couldn't help it, you're Oppressed!) and then imagine they're AGAINST colonialism!

Not only is St Greta the modern colonialist par excellence she is the entire 21st century West encompassed in a single person: a young "neurodivergent" woman from an upscale family addicted to self-righteousness who barely went to school, NEVER held a job, and who's never lived a single day where she's not on social media begging for likes and attention by denouncing everything and everyone for failing to live up to her fantasy standards, who's never ONCE spoke a single word of gratitude for the enormous safety and luxury she was born into, the people who created and sacrified to hand it to her, and who would destroy it all in a fit of teenage pique just to show how much more spiritually enlightened she is than the rest of us.

She is pretty much the literal incarnation of the West's suicidal deathwish.

she is pretty much a satirist's wet dream...do we have any satirists anymore? I think the Party banned them.

The good news is that this thing pretty much killed the climate extremism. I've seen the "Fridays for Future" marches dwindle to next to nothing once the communist and Palestinian flags came out. These movements self-destruct as soon as people try to shoehorn their own agenda into a popular movement, you can also see that with some "activists" trying to somehow push pro-abortion or queer / trans into the pro-Palestine protests. They can't stay on message. The more idiotic things like throwing soup or superglueing are doing the rest, it's pretty off-putting to the saner people.

Looking at the state elections in Germany young people turn their backs on lefty and green causes (often green on the outside, red on the inside).

Chris Oldman describes not just the future of journalism, but the way it's been for quite some time.

Somebody should make a parody video of how J-schools train the next generation of shills for the Democratic Party:

- Professor: We have a story on tariffs. Republicans want to increase them against imports from China.

- Student: Those costs get passed on to the American consumer. We're paying for those tariffs.

- Professor: Excellent. And how do we know that?

- Student: "Experts say."

- Professor: Very good. Now, what happens when the Biden or Harris administration implements tariffs against China?

- Student: Very nuanced. Some of those tariffs are mostly symbolic. They create resilient supply chains because they force companies to move their production from China to smaller countries. Plus, it's good to flood with U.S. market with cheap materials for solar panels even if they take jobs away from Americans because we have to go green fast. They're basically playing 3D chess.

- Professor: And how do we know this?

- Student: "Experts say."

- Professor: You've learned well. Now take your rightful place at NBC.

Elon Musk should have included Bill Gates in his observation about morons becoming billionaires.

Brad, I’m reading this at 1500 UK time. I wish I’d waited until a little later when we have our Friday G&T and then perhaps I could have handled it better. So much madness out there.

Someone needs to tell Chris Oldman that that isn’t what’s going to be journalism, that IS journalism. And it’s been that way for quite a few years now.

That Mark Andreessen quote is perfect. I want it on a T-shirt, or I’ll cross stitch it and hang it on my wall, maybe.

“Mark Cuban is proof that morons can become billionaires.”

Cuban's opinion are so wrong with respect to business and human nature, I can only believe that Musk is absolutely correct, or else Cuban is playing a game where he expects to be rewarded by the CCP for combating in American politics to keep the establishment Regime in power. I think it might be the latter as Cuban has not demonstrated that he is a moron.

Cuban is jealous of Musk and other billionaires. He is obviously afflicted with a big ego gap and is competitive. I have suspect that his positions on woke and Harris are all part of his playing the political field to be rewarded. It is possible that the Harris campaign has silently offered him a cabinet position and Cuban thinks he can run for President one day.

Cuban did 2 things right.

He managed to be in the right place at the right time for Yahoo to make one of the dumbest purchases ever (broadcast.com for nearly $6B), and then he bought a sports franchise before those skyrocketed i value.

Considering Musk made a much bigger overpay for Twatter ($44B - WTF!), then maybe he ought not throw stones.

I don't think Cuban is stupid, and neither is Bill Gates. They're just evil opportunists. One thing the very wealthy often try and do is pull up the ladder behind them to make it impossible for others to become as wealthy, taxes and regulation are great ways to achieve that.

The Toronto Life article about the Uber Liberals & their Othership is perfect encapsulation of Liberal Privilege, which essentially is being able to life a better life that you do. Also getting to crow about it. Or Tweet. X that. They are also living in a Nevernever Land. One of their own making. They secretly hope to fly to another nicer planet to live Life as it is supposed be lived.

Maybe Michael Cohen is going to Toronto…

Looks to me like they're trying to find a way that flaunt their wealth and privilege while looking sophisticated. Some time ago Brad linked to an article about a couple who spent millions building a carbon neutral beach house - with parts shipped from all over the world. I've met quite a few people who are stuck in Marxist thinking - the idea that you haven't earned what you have since wealth can only be attained by coercion - and they try to square that by trying to look socially conscious and talking like they're somehow working class. At least all that health and wellness stuff isn't made to look unselfish.

Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett, seems to have a poor understanding of how checks & balances are supposed to work in the USA. I suggest she accompany Michael Cohen to his unnamed foreign country where he imagines things work better than here. Perhaps Greta Thunberg’s Nevernever Land.

Currently experiencing gang violence higher than Los Angeles or East St. Louis combined courtesy of immigrant gangs fighting with guns in a gun controlled country. How’s that not working for you.

Yes she was one of the worst offenders threatening Matt Taibbi and Michael Schellenberger when they were testifying before Congress. Threatening to put them in jail for their free speech. She is truly a horror show, a dictatorress.

Sometimes I click on the names of the leftists in Quotes, look at their faces on X or whatever, don't know why......they look, for the most part, reasonably normal, though perhaps just that tiny glimmer of fanaticism in the eyes, the set of the mouth etc.....
