Many people dismissed Greg Abbott’s decision to ship illegals to Blue states and cities as a useless and cruel PR stunt, but it has turned out to be a masterstroke in political strategy. Now, in dealing with a small measure of what border states have to go through, Democratic officials are making the GOP’s arguments for them.

Adams is apoplectic over the “madman down in Texas who decided he wanted to bus people up to New York City.” Why are New Yorkers surprised that a non-sanctuary jurisdiction such as Texas would “bus” illegal immigrants “up” to a sanctuary jurisdiction such as their own? After all, Adams said:
“We should protect our immigrants. Period. Yes, New York City will remain a sanctuary city under an Adams administration.” — Eric Adams in October 2021.
“My response is that kids know their genders. Unequivocally. Cisgender kids know their genders. And transgender kids know their genders.” — Dr. Meredithe McNamara, Pediatrics professor at Yale, who argues that there shouldn’t be any “gender-affirming care” safeguards in place for children. A few months back, when McNamara was asked by Rep. Dan Crenshaw to provide a single study showing that transgender procedures are beneficial for children, she couldn’t do so.

It’s worth noting that Tarrio was a “prolific” FBI collaborator and “key” undercover asset in numerous investigations who “risked his life to assist law enforcement officers on many occasions.” But the FBI went and turned him into public enemy #1 for “seditious conspiracy,” an ancient statute from 1861. Tarrio’s sentence is longer than the median time served in state prison for murder, rape, and other violent offenses.
“Students in Michigan Housing need to leave their residence halls during isolation, even if they are in a single room.” — Guidance from a new policy at the University of Michigan, which is forcing students who test positive for covid to leave their dorms for five days and live in the community.

What Smerconish is describing is the “focused protection” strategy recommended at the beginning of the pandemic by Great Barrington Declaration epidemiologists like Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, who were censored and demonized at the behest of Fauci.

I’ve previously written that the real reason Biden is running again is because Kamala Harris has been an abject disaster as VP and would likely lose to Trump. And to those who ask, “Well, if Biden steps down, why can’t another Democrat run instead of Harris,” my response is that the Left would lose its mind if a black female vice president were passed up for the nomination. It would cause a rift in the Democratic Party and probably lead considerably more people to vote for Cornell West, all but ensuring a Trump victory.
