I’m talking about us women. He’s killing us. He is putting us at risk. He is making us afraid to have babies.” — MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski

I think those women are mostly afraid that without the secret service Kamalas Husband might smack them around. They need him locked up in the White House.

To Rachel Vindman -- I like DeSantis, and I live in Florida.

To Jimmy Kimmel -- You think it's reasonable to have TDS because your diet of news is limited.

To Nature -- So scientists are smart enough to conduct research but might not realize that the invite that says "Join us this summer" is referring to the season in the event's region of the world?

And does anyone think Chris Cuomo could say, "You people didn't even like her six months ago" if he were still on CNN? That's the power of the media hivemind.

The Nature thing is doubly stupid as you realize that it IS summer in the place you are invited to

“Like, if you wouldn’t — if you wouldn’t hire somebody to babysit your kids, like, you shouldn’t make that guy the president of the United States.” — Liz Cheney

Harris doesn't have children. Bidens surviving children are basket-cases. Trumps kids are all pretty normal people, especially considering that their father is incredibly famous and quite wealthy. I know who I'd pick if those are the choices. Luckily most people put a lot more thoughts into that (picking babysitters).

At the very least the Harris campaigns embrace of the Cheneys gives them someone to blame if she ends up losing the election. How many millennials who grew up watching the Daily Show with Jon Stewart with his constant bashing of Bush/Cheney (One segment was called "you don't know Dick" with some strange facts about Cheney) and are now looking at this and feeling totally betrayed by the Democrats? To his credit, Stewart even asked Walz about it in an interview and the answer was total horseshit.

I think an honourable mention this week should go to the "New Republic" with the headline "Trump Cancels All His Events in Favor of One of the Worst People Ever" - they're talking about Joe Rogan, not Valdimir Putin or Kim Jong Un. How blinded by jealous rage can you be to use language like that? Or was this written by a teenage girl "He's, like, the worst, everrrr"?

"Making Vance weird is inseparable from the project of making (Rachel) Levine normal. If Levine is normal than Vance really is weird and vice versa......" Beautifully put formulation and applicable to any number of issues I think....

Funny how 'saying “summer (Northern Hemisphere)” implies the Euro–American-centric approach' but doesn't somehow imply an Asian, Indian, Middle Eastern, or North African approach. But using European month names and a Catholic calendar are somehow more inclusive. Do these people ever think things through?

Watching from across the pond with no skin in the game I’m astounded how Harris is now the best thing since a bucket of hot wings when before sleepy got his strings cut and pushed out, she seemed to be universally disliked by most folk and got no votes at all in her primary…

Odd!!

I don't think there's any stronger evidence that modern America is a flaming idiocracy being drowned by toxic tribal emotionalism than the fact that some of our stupidest people are supposed "professors".

“The U.S. was built on racial patriarchy." And the same goes for every nation ever founded in all recorded history—ancient Egypt, built and run by its men for the benefit of its race (tribe), same for the Greeks, Romans, the modern Chinese, Japanese, Russians, and the entire Arab world. America and the Western nations are the ONLY countries to ever change this and if this were a real patriarchy she'd be silenced under some form of veil.

"If you want to describe what the First Amendment is, it’s not about consistent or noble principles, it’s about power." The First Amendment is one of the greatest achievements in human history and this well-paid dunce would have no career and would probably be a poor housewife if it were never established. The opposite is true: free speech is the cornerstone of a free society and of any possible reform, only tyrants oppose it.

"It’s about converging with that idea of racial patriarchy and if you are disturbing it.”

Is this really where our educated class has arrived at? Is "Nothing exists but power and oppression" their one great contribution to human knowledge? How different is this than the teen who calls his parents fascists because they won't let him drive the car?

American academia is a disgrace and I don't know what's more disgraceful: that people can still get ahead regurgitating this juvenile nonsense or that they haven't been laughed out of polite society (and their jobs) for saying it in public.

Shadi's point about Muslim's sitting this election out is, from talking to a few, what I also suspect is going to happen. I haven't seen the ramifications discussed, but I expect a few local/regional elections to be impacted.

No expert here but I do think the Muslims are looking at the larger picture. Trump may be pro Israel but he is also against conflict and working for peace. Oddly the democrats have gone away from that and the Muslim community sees that. the embrace of cheney is clearly one of the biggest blunders I have ever seen.

It's probably also similar to Hispanics, most hispanic voters aren't for illegal immigration, most Muslims aren't for terrorism, most Muslim immigrants left for a good reason and the extremists running many majority Muslim countries are probably part of the problem. The extremists seem to preferentially migrate to Europe.

right and this is where i am no expert but my understanding is a lot of muslims do not care all that much about Palestine or Israel. They care about Egypt jordan. etc and Trump was pushing for peaceful solutions with the US backing out not the Intel State policy of ready fire aim so we can double our dunding and make money on our Lockheed stock

Good point. It's also worth noting that the Palestinians are fairly unpopular in the neighboring countries. Those who support them typically only do it to stick it to Israel.

I think you're meant to be flattered in your beliefs when being told that even the Cheneys see how awful Trump is. The point is to feel superior and believe "wow, even Dick Cheney finally came around", when the reality is that the Cheneys haven't changed one iota and it's the progressives that have come around to Dick Cheney's neocon ways of thinking, i.e. the native population is the problem and it is right and good to use the tactics developed fighting terrorism against them. After all, progressives have proven themselves nothing if not susceptible to flattery based on their worldview.
